While tube caps are relatively small items, they have a huge impact on your painting experience. That is why GOLDEN is happy to introduce its new cog-design caps to artists everywhere. While they to leave our factory on tubes late last spring, we estimate that many of you are seeing them for the first time – and others have yet to see them. The new design provides greater leverage on stuck caps while being easier on your hands. The narrow “saw-tooth” cap has been replaced with a chunky cog design that has a thicker profile making it easier on your skin and muscles. There is a little more background on our new caps in this new products article in JustPaint.org.
To maximize accessibility, we introduced the GRIPR at the same time. This cap tool fits perfectly with the new caps, but also works with our old caps and caps on tubes from other manufacturers. The GRIPR has four cap opening spaces, to work on smaller caps from QoR, Williamsburg and other smaller tubes. The GRIPR can be found at most stores that sell GOLDEN paints, but if you don’t see them be sure to ask your local art supply retailer!
I think this is a great innovation. Packaging counts. Opening and closing paint tubes with small, hard lids can hurt your hands by the end of a long paint session. And how can you not love a gadget with a cool, acronym name like GRIPR?
